I have lived in Oklahoma City for almost six years now, and I didn't know until this month that I was less than 5 miles from a lake. I knew that Lake Hefner, which is very nice, was a quite a distance north of where I lived. When I found out that Lake Overholser was close by my house, I started visiting the lake a little more frequently. The past few weekends I have gone there in the evening to relax and enjoy the scenery.
I've been to both of those lakes. I have lived in El Reno OK since May 13,2008. Only reason why I knew where those lakes were is because I have to know my location when I'm photographing and filming the severe weather here in the plains states. I ended up by these lakes on Feb 10, 2009 when the tornadoes were hitting the OKC and Edmond area. They offer a good view for photography. I moved from N.C. to OK. I love the views this state has to offer, and the people in general are friendly. It didn't take long to find a churh out here either. I have enjoyed this state so far. I have already traveled quite a bit through out this state. I have definetly seen more of the western half than the eastern half. I love it out here, I hope you're enjoying it too.
